Alumni Spotlight: Saka Christopher Opoku Wins Sports Personality of the Year @KNUST

Riverside Academy is proud to celebrate Saka Christopher Opoku, who has been awarded Sports Personality of the Year at the NORAJ Night of Romeo and Juliet Dinner and Awards Night held on 5th September 2025.
Christopher completed his BECE at Riverside Academy in 2021, where he was an active member of the school’s football team. His skills and leadership on the pitch earned him admiration from both teammates and coaches. During this time, he also featured in a football advert — a testament to his talent and growing recognition as a promising young athlete.
Currently, Christopher is pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) while keeping his passion for football alive.
His latest award is not only a recognition of his personal commitment to sports but also a reflection of Riverside Academy’s vision of nurturing well-rounded students who excel both in academics and extracurricular pursuits.
