Riverside Academy officially presents its 2025/26 BECE graduating class, marking a significant milestone as the school’s 10th batch prepares to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
A total of 31 candidates will represent the school in this year’s national examination. The cohort reflects a decade of steady growth and commitment to holistic education, grounded in faith, academic excellence, and character development.
In a message of encouragement, the Board of Governors, School Management, and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) expressed confidence in the candidates’ readiness, highlighting the years of preparation, discipline, and guidance that have shaped them.
“This moment represents not only academic preparation, but the formation of character and purpose,” the statement noted. “Our learners step forward equipped with knowledge, strengthened by values, and anchored in strong christian faith.”
The school reaffirmed its Christ-centred approach to education, encouraging candidates to approach the examination with confidence and trust in God. Drawing from Proverbs 21:31, the message reminded students that while preparation is essential, ultimate success rests in God’s hands.
Students have been urged to remain calm, focused, and diligent throughout the examination period, demonstrating both competence and integrity in their work.
Riverside Academy extended its best wishes to the graduating class, expressing pride in their journey and optimism for their future pathways beyond basic education.
Background to the BECE
The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), organised annually by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is Ghana’s standardised national assessment for final-year Junior High School students. It signifies the completion of the nine-year Basic Education cycle and serves as the basis for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS), Technical Institutes, and Vocational Schools through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
Candidates are assessed in core subject areas including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and Ghanaian Language, among others, to determine their readiness for the next stage of education.
