School Business Manager Pays Working Visit to Oxford University Press, UK

Riverside Academy’s School Business Manager, Joel Kwaku Abeseabe, paid a working visit to Oxford University Press (OUP) in Oxford, United Kingdom, on 16 April 2026, as part of the school’s ongoing engagement around the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC).

The visit, facilitated by Catalyst Learning Systems, OUP’s curriculum delivery partner in Ghana, provided an opportunity for Riverside Academy to share its experience of implementing the Oxford International Curriculum and to engage directly with members of the OUP team.

During the visit, Joel held a high-level meeting with Matthew Davison, Head of International Primary at Oxford University Press, and Kate Munday. The meeting provided a platform for Riverside Academy to present its OIC journey, including the school’s implementation experience, progress, lessons learnt and emerging impact.

Joel’s presentation also highlighted how Riverside Academy is working to bring an internationally recognised curriculum into the Ghanaian context, while maintaining the school’s commitment to its identity, values and wider educational mission.

The presentation was followed by discussions on curriculum implementation, school experience and impact, with an opportunity to reflect on Riverside Academy’s progress and consider areas for continued development.

The working visit also included a tour of the historic Oxford University Press Library and Museum, providing an opportunity to learn more about OUP’s long-standing heritage in publishing, education and scholarship.

The visit represents another step in Riverside Academy’s continuing engagement with Oxford University Press as the school develops its Oxford International Curriculum pathway. It also provided an important opportunity to share Riverside’s experience directly with OUP and to strengthen professional connections around the delivery of an international curriculum in Ghana.
